Quick – and be honest – is this a stupid title?

Public testing/Greenlight/Kickstarter are all getting closer all the time…

(EDIT)  Guess that one sucks – here’s another shot at it.

Ludum Dare 25 and a little bit about sneakers

I’ve got the result of my first game jam – it’s sorta rudimentary but I’m still pretty happy with it.  It’s supposed to be exploratory, so expect a certain amount of fiddling.

In other news, David is squared away to start working on the music/sound for the stealth game!  He’s got an impressive amount of work ahead of him and I think it’s gonna do amazing things for the atmosphere and setting.

I’ll have a new video soon, but for now, here’s a screenshot.  What changes do you see?

Lots to show, but no time to show it…

Hey y’all – I’ve got various updates to the stealth game (new enemy character art, custom trial levels, unlock progress, mildly randomized flooring, etc), but I don’t have any time to show it off yet because I’m about to head to Richmond for the weekend to participate in Ludum Dare 25.  If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s a game dev event where people try to make a game (alone or in small teams) over the course of either two or three days (depending on how strict an entrant wants to be).  I always tell people that they should do stuff like this because it’s great practice, but I’ve never actually participated in one myself…and that’s kinda silly, so it’s about time to fix it.

Anyway – basically, there’ll be a chunk of new information/pictures/video about the stealth game and a free minigame somewhere next week.  Get hype!

Character art!

Finally!

Here’s our hero up close:

And here he is crouched.

Originally his “torso” was going to be a big square telescope that would be easy to shorten.  I think this new spreading panel body type is much more interesting and makes him look a lot more like a machine – especially while he’s animating.

There’s been some significant updates since the tutorial demonstration, so it’s safe to expect a new video soon!

  1. Nice idea with the musical instruments, that’s suuuuuuper important for learning something completely. Like you’re going to know about different materials and how sound works, thats cool. I learned about how meat dries, and now I have an idea of how things dry. Also, for the cell game, (maybe) making it more realistic, by like making it kinda like a 3d osmosis jones will make it more visceral and real. maybe. Yea but it’s gonna take you a while to make anything, just like my cousin who’s an artist, each mosaic takes like a month, depending how big it is. A big project, like on the side of a building took him like 8 months, but his work is…. rigorous and detailed and very thoughtful and carefully crafted. His works are good, old museum art good, like roman vases good. Anyway, yea it’s good that you are making your own instruments because i’m doing the same thing, but with economics. It really helps you understand precisely how the physical world works. It’s nice.
